Rainbow bagels

I couldn't resist adding this fun rainbow

recipe to this website This recipe is quite time-consuming but every minute is worth it to make these fluffy flavourful rainbow-coloured pieces of joy. These bagels are perfect for snacks, lunches and parties. Make these and show off your killer baking skills.

Ingredients

  - 2 cups warm water

  - 2 packs active dry yeast

  - 3 Tbsp sugar

  - 2 Tsp salt

  - 2 Tsp vegetable oil

  - 5-6 cups white flour

Materials

  - Food coloring

  - Hand held mixer

  - 1 large bowl

  - 6 medium sized bowls

Instructions

Put the warm water and yeast packs, salt, sugar and oil into a large bowl stir them then let them sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes add the flour one cup at a time until you make a dough like mixture that stays together. Separate the dough into 6 bowls. Add food colouring to the 6 balls of dough to make red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple for secondary colours (follow the instructions on the food colouring box). Mix the colours into the dough until you get a colour that's consistent throughout the balls. Let them rise for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll the balls out into thin layers and layer them in the order of the rainbow. Slice the dough into thin strips and twist them into bagels shaped circles and secure the connecting edges by pressing down. Boil a pot of water, place the bagels in the water for 20 secs for small bagels or 30 secs for larger bagels. Place the bagels on two baking sheets with parchment paper. Place the baking sheets in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Then eat the wonderful rainbows you created.
